Amr Abd-Elrahman joined the Geomatics program in April 2007. His major area of interest is Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing, with emphasis on image processing, spatial database modeling, and web-based GIS data dissemination. Past experience includes working on the Florida GAP Analysis project, Unmanned Air Vehicle (UAV) applications in natural resources management and transportation traveler information systems.

Amr is the Geomatics Faculty in charge at the Plant City Campus of the Gulf Coast Research and Education Center. More information about that campus is available at http://geomatics-pcc.ifas.ufl.edu/index.html .

Mapping applications using airborne laser scanners (LIDAR)
Development of web-based GIS applications
Image understanding techniques and applications
Development of Unmanned Air Vehicle (UAV) systems for spatial data acquisition
