SFRC Extension

welcomeWelcome

The University of Florida's School of Forest Resources & Conservation (SFRC) Extension program is committed to providing research-based information and programs on natural resources to educators, decision-makers, landowners, land managers and citizens. This is acheived through providing county extension agents with current information, resources, and training for effective programs; enhancing continuing education opportunities for natural resource professionals and environmental educators; conveying research results to relevant audiences; and developing materials and programs for youth education related to natural resources.

wildland fire: one of many SFRC Extension programsAbout Us

The School’s Extension Programs are coordinated by faculty and staff with active extension programs in agroforestry, ecotourism, fisheries and aquatic sciences, forest stewardship, urban forestry, wildland-urban interface, wood utilization and youth education. Our aim is to expand current programs to emphasize non-traditional uses of forests, ecological functions of forests and water resources, wildland-urban interface issues, and integration of our forest and aquatic extension programs. Much of this is acheived with resources generated through creative partnering and grants. More...
